My Maine Business

About

I’ve been working in Maine small business since the age of 14. I LOVE EVERY MOMENT!!! My mom owns a small photography studio that mainly on weddings. So, at the age of 14, I began attending bridal shows with her and adore the people I’ve met since then. I began college as a Marketing major at Champlain College, but transferred home (to the University of Southern Maine) so I could be closer to the small business community I love so much (and became a Entrepreneurship & Small Business major). Lately I’ve been asked by several local small businesses (both in the wedding industry as well as outside the industry) to help them understand internet marketing and how it can help their businesses. I want this blog to be a resource and reference page, housing tips and answers to the questions I get asked.

As for what I’m up to, this fall I had an idea. After sharing the idea with my family (who, as it turns out, has a wide range of backgrounds in software development and design, information technology and computer science, financial and business skills) the idea has transformed and grown into a family company. Our team launched MyMarriageMarket.com as of January 9, 2010. It’s a work in progress (everything on the internet is a work in progress), but I’m throughly enjoying every second that I spend on this project.

Cheers to all who have desired and built a dream of entrepreneurship. With small businesses the risks are risky, but the rewards are far more rewarding than any other work experience one could ever have.
